Medical Monday: Healthy eating for the holidays

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The holiday season often involves meals with high calories, but one expert says there are ways to decrease your calorie intake.

Navicent Health Dietitian Emily Johnson says on average, people gain 7-10 pounds each Thanksgiving.

Johnson offers advice to help you get meals with full flavor and better health benefits.

She also suggests downloading fitness apps, such as My Fitness Pal, to keep track of how many calories, sodium and sugars you intake.
