Mayhem blown out by Peoria, 7-1

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Southern Professional Hockey League’s best team beat Macon Thursday for the fifth time this season.

On the first night of Military Weekend, the Mayhem (13-18-4) fell to the Peoria Rivermen, 7-1.

Peoria (26-6-2) opened the scoring with a pair of goals midway through the first period. It led 3-0 after two periods and scored four more goals in the third.

Military Weekend continues Friday at 7:30 when the Mayhem hosts Mississippi. Columbus visits the Centreplex Saturday at 7:30.
