Martinez-Evans shuts down Warner Robins in final pool play game

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It just wasn’t Warner Robins American’s day.

For the first time since pool play began at the Little League state tournament at Flint Energies Sports Complex, the hosts struggled on both offense and defense in a 9-1 loss to Martinez-Evans.  The only run they could manage was a fourth inning RBI single by Jeremy White.

The loss means MELL (3-0) is the Pool A winner.  WRALL (2-1) takes second place.

MELL will play Northern Little League (second place in Pool B) at 8:30 in Tuesday’s semifinals.  WRALL will play Pool B’s winner, Peachtree City, at 6.  Peachtree City beat Northern 21-17 in pool play Monday.

The winners of Tuesday’s semifinals meet in Wednesday’s state championship game at 6:30.
