The Market kicks off monthly event this Sunday
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Newtown Macon is hosting a new event that will take place every third Sunday of the month.
A monthly Farmers and Makers Market will offer a variety of local products and services such as crafts, food, and artisan items.
Emily Hopkins, director of Place at Newtown Macon, says NewTown Macon won a grant from the Downtown Challenge Fund of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. The grant allows them to host a monthly market to increase access to food for residents who live downtown.
“About 15 vendors have signed up for the Sunday festivities,” Hopkins said.
When: The Market starts Sunday, September 15 at 11 a.m. and ends 2 p.m.
Where: Between the block of First and Second Street downtown.
Admission: Free and open to the public.
During The Market, Dean Brown and the Dubshak Band will perform.
