Man’s shooting death is Decatur’s first homicide since 2014
DECATUR, Georgia (AP) – Police say a 52-year-old man found shot to death in a stairwell of an apartment building is Decatur’s first homicide since 2014.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/29uOyJE ) reports that Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Nelly Miles says Gerard Foster’s body was found Wednesday morning in a building on Robin Street and that he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Miles says no arrests have been made and the exact number of people wanted in the shooting is not known.
Local media outlets report Forster was recently married and recently ordained deacon in a Decatur church.
The last homicide in Decatur was in December 2014
