Man struck by car, killed on Gray Highway in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man died while trying to cross Gray Highway in Macon Wednesday night.

The Macon-Bibb Coroner’s Office says 61-year-old Frank Pittman Jr. was hit by a car and died at the scene around 9:30 p.m. The accident happened at 2200 Gray Highway.

Investigators aren’t sure why he was crossing the highway but say Pittman lived in the Raintree Apartments which are close by.

The driver who hit Pittman stopped immediately after the accident and was cooperating with police.
