Georgia man denied clemency, execution set for Wednesday

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A man convicted for killing two people in 1997 was denied clemency Tuesday.

Donnie Cleveland Lance, who was convicted for murdering Sabrina Joy Lance and Dwight Wood Jr. in Jackson County in November of 1997, is scheduled to be executed Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m. at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson, according to a news release from the State Board of Pardons and Paroles.

The release says board members considered information contained in Lance’s case file, which contains background information including his criminal history and the circumstances of the crime committed that resulted in a death sentence.
