Malzahn: WR Williams out for bowl, back in 2015

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – No. 19 Auburn’s leading receiver, D’haquille Williams, is suspended for the Outback Bowl.
Tigers coach Gus Malzahn said Monday that Williams will be held out of Thursday’s game against No. 17 Wisconsin “for breaking team rules.” Malzahn says Williams is planning to return for his senior season instead of leaving early to enter the NFL draft.
Malzahn says he allowed Williams to travel to the game so he could help the Tigers prepare by working on the scout team.
Williams led Auburn with 45 catches for 730 yards despite missing two-plus games with a knee injury.
Malzahn says Ricardo Louis, C.J. Uzomah and Melvin Ray will help fill his role against the Badgers.
Fellow Auburn receiver Sammie Coates has already announced he’s skipping his senior season to turn pro.
