Macon woman killed in single-vehicle crash in Twiggs County, GSP says

TWIGGS COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Macon woman was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Twiggs County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the preliminary investigation found that 50-year-old Tara Johnson, of Macon, was driving a white GMC Yukon east on Georgia 18 when the SUV failed to maintain its lane and traveled onto the south shoulder of the roadway.
The vehicle then struck a tree on the driver’s side, authorities said.
Johnson died at the scene, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The crash remains under investigation.
