Macon Pedestrian Hit by Car, in Critical Condition

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – 44 year old Timothy Walker of Macon walked in front of a car and was hit this morning on Spring Street near Riverside Drive, according to deputies.
He’s in critical condition at a local hospital.

The sheriff’s office is using this accident as an opportunity to remind pedestrians to use crosswalks, especially at busy intersections.

The driver of the vehicle has NOT been charged.

Accident With Injury Involving a Pedestrian

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that occurred on Spring Street near Riverside Drive. The accident happened just before 10:30 a.m. this morning. It was reported that a blue Honda Accord driven by 22 year old Shannon Pinnell of Macon was traveling south on Spring Street.  A pedestrian, 44 year old Timothy Walker, walked out in front of the Honda Accord and was struck. Walker is reported to be homeless. He was not crossing at a pedestrian crosswalk.

Walker was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition. No charges have been filed at this time.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind pedestrians when crossing roadways to use the pedestrian crosswalks when available and to always check the traffic before crossing especially at busy intersections.
