Macon Habitat for Humanity partners with Lowe’s to build homes
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two Macon families are getting brand new homes thanks to Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity.
Volunteers are building up houses on Dorothy Avenue and San Carlos Drive in the Lynmore Estates neighborhood.
Lowe’s awarded Macon area Habitat $66,000 to fix up the different homes in the area.
“Over the years, the houses have gone down in value and now that Habitat is out here and Lowe’s is partnering with them, we’re trying to get everything rebuilt and just make the neighborhood good again,” Cheree Trotter, one of the organizers, said.
Volunteers are installing cabinets in two houses and also creating a zen garden as well.
There are plans to install insulation to prepare the houses for the winter.
