Macon County’s Roquan Smith heading to UGA

MONTEZUMA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The wait is over. Macon County’s Roquan Smith says he’ll play college football for the University of Georgia.

On National Signing Day, he announced he was choosing UCLA on national television but then changed his mind.

Smith made the announcement about becoming a Bulldog this morning on his Twitter page.

Ahead of today’s Twitter posting, Smith’s high school coach, Larry Harold, told 41NBC’s Tucker Sargent that Smith would only send in his scholarship papers, not sign a letter of intent.  Smith also considered Michigan and Texas A&M.
