Macon Chamber of Commerce starts Georgia’s first Young Entrepreneurs Academy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce is starting a new program to teach students how to start a business.

This will be Georgia’s first Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), according to a news release from the chamber. Classes will start in the fall. The program will take students ages 11-18 through the process of starting and laughing a real business or social movement over the course of an academic year. The goal is to have students owning and operating their own functioning business which can be carried on after they graduate from the program.

Classes will be held every Wednesday, except for holidays, in Mercer University’s Innovation Center from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Classes start in October 2016 and end in May 2017.
