Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on Broadway in Macon

The victim was pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent, according to the Bibb County Coroner.

UPDATE: Bibb County deputies say they were called to the scene just before 6:40 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Investigators say the driver of a 2006 Dodge Dakota struck a female pedestrian who was walking in the roadway and wearing dark clothing.

An ambulance took a woman to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her identity will be released when her family is notified.

The crash remains under investigation. Deputies say no charges have been filed at this time.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman died Thursday night after being struck by a car.

That’s according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. Jones says the collision happened just before 6:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of Broadway and that the victim was pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent at 7:20.

Her identity has not been released.
