Macon-Bibb commissioners want to show support for county’s EOC

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb Commissioners want to show their support for the county’s Equal Opportunity Council.

The Economic and Community Development Committee passed a resolution for commission to back the agency. It might lose $6.8 million to fund the Macon-Bibb Head Start Program.

Commissioner Elaine Lucas said another agency in Warner Robins put in a bid to take over the program. She adds the EOC has a great track record and has produced outstanding students for 36 years.

The Macon-Bibb Commission is expected to vote on the resolution at its meeting next Tuesday.
