Macon-Bibb Board of Elections proposes new polling locations

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – There may be new polling locations for Macon-Bibb voters.  Election officials say they’re getting rid of some of the voting precincts, so they can save money.

As a newly formed consolidated government, Macon-Bibb is required to reduce its general fund budget by 20%. This has to be done within the next four years.

The board will vote on these changes on January 29. The public is welcomed to address any concerns.

Below is the proposed list of new polling locations:

East Macon
1. River Edge Behavioral Center (Health Department)- 175 Emery Hwy, 31217
2. St. Paul AME Church 2501- Shurling Drive, 31217
3. East Macon Park & Recreation Center- 3326 Ocmulgee E. Blvd, 31217
4. Northeast High School- 1646 Upper River Rd., 31211

Godfrey
1. Promise Center- 1780 Anthony Rd, 31204
2. Beulahland Bible Church- 1010 Newberg Ave, 31206

Hazzard
