Low early voter turnout in race for Gray mayor

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Early voting numbers are low in the race for Gray mayor, according to the Jones County Elections Superintendent.

Only six percent of registered voters in Gray have cast their ballot in more than a week of early voting.

On the ballot to replace Stephen Tingen as mayor are Ed Barbee and James Collins. For Mayor Pro Tem, the candidates are Kema Greene Clark and Ken Tapee.

There is also a city council race in District 1 between Richard L. Tipton and incumbent David Tufts.

Election Day in Gray for those races is Nov. 7.
