WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The City of Warner Robins is looking to attract more visitors with new leadership at its Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The city appointed Tabitha Clark as the bureau’s new director. Clark says she’s excited to return to the community where she grew up and help showcase what Warner Robins has to offer.

Clark says the city has continued to grow, and she wants to make it easier for visitors and residents to learn about local attractions, restaurants and entertainment.

“Warner Robins is huge. I mean, it has grown leaps and bounds, just like the rest of Houston County,” Clark said. “What we are hoping is to make that big space seem a little bit more compact so that way people understand exactly what’s going on and happening in Warner Robins, such as things to do.”

Clark also wants residents to become ambassadors for the city by sharing information about local attractions with friends and family visiting from out of town.

Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick says the appointment is an important step toward growing tourism.

“Having a leader like Tabitha Clark be a part of the team is what we’ve been missing,” Patrick said. “It’s important for us to have someone who knows all the regulations, all the resources, the entire playbook from beginning to end and bringing and inviting tourists into our community.”

Patrick says attracting more visitors could also benefit local businesses and hotels by bringing more customers into the city.

She says Clark will have support from city leaders and departments as she works to expand tourism efforts.

Clark says she plans to highlight the different experiences available in Warner Robins, including sports tourism, Rigby’s and the Museum of Aviation.

The city says the bureau will focus on expanding business travel, family tourism and sports tourism as it works to grow tourism’s economic impact and promote Warner Robins as a destination.
