Local business, community leaders go to jail for MDA
All of the money raised at the lock up goes to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Many of the “prisoners” had to rely on friends, family, colleagues, and associates to bail them out of jail.
“This money raised is used for research, and, it’s locally used for camps that children can go to, to get away from the fact that they have this disability and the disease they’re living with,” said Doreen Hansard, an MDA volunteer.
The goal of this year’s event is to raise $100,000. Event organizers asked each participant to stay “locked up” for at least an hour.
