Legendary Georgia Bulldog Dan Magill dies in Athens
ATHENS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Longtime Georgia Bulldog Dan Magill has died at the age of 93.
Magill served as the University of Georgia’s men’s tennis coach from 1955 until his retirement in 1988. During his time as coach, he won 13 SEC outdoor titles and eight indoor titles and also captured two national championships. He continued in numerous roles with the athletic department until 1995.
According to a release from the school, a celebration of Magill’s life is scheduled for noon Thursday at the Athens Country Club.
