GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — All Jones County schools are dismissing students early Friday because of a city water main break, according to district Communications Director Adam Gilhouse.

Parents and guardians can begin checking students out at their schools immediately.

The district said bus riders in grades 6 through 12 are being released immediately. Pre-K and elementary bus riders will begin being released as early as 1 p.m.

Parents and guardians of bus riders should make arrangements for someone to receive the students at home.

All after-school activities are canceled for Friday.

“The safety and supervision of our students remain our top priorities,” the district said. “Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure all students are safely received at home.”
