Jones County recovers four stolen cars in three weeks
GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – In just over three weeks, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office has recovered four stolen vehicles, three of which were from Bibb County.
“These things happen from time to time,” Maj. Earl Humphries said. “It’s not a increase in crime per se, it’s just one of those things that happens. ”
Maj. Humphries has a couple words of advice for Middle Georgia residents.
“Never leave your car unattended and if you do leave the car unattended, make sure you lock it up,” Humphries said. “Take the keys with you and don’t leave it running.”
He also says not to lend your vehicle to other people.
Most stolen vehicles that the Jones County Sheriff’s Office find aren’t necessarily nice cars. Instead, according to Maj. Humphries, the cars are lower-end, and are used for quick transportation, narcotics transactions or to sell the vehicle’s parts.
