Jones County High School announces new discipline, vaping policies for 2026-27 school year

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Jones County High School is implementing several policy changes for the 2026-27 school year, including stricter disciplinary consequences for physical altercations and vaping, as well as new restrictions on beverage containers allowed on campus.
According to information posted by the school, any physical altercation that causes a disruption to the school day will result in an immediate 10-day suspension and a minimum of 45 days in alternative school.
The school also announced disciplinary consequences for students found in possession of or using vape products. Under the policy, students will receive a 10-day suspension and a minimum of 45 days in alternative school.
In addition, Jones County High School is limiting the types of drink containers permitted on campus.
Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, only clear cups and clear water bottles will be allowed on campus. Metal cups and colored bottles will not be permitted, according to the school.
The policy updates were shared on the school’s social media accounts ahead of the start of the 2026-27 school year.
