Florida fugitive wanted on child sex charges arrested in Johnson County

Deputies say the suspect was wanted out of Florida on multiple felony charges and was arrested without incident.

WRIGHTSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Deputies say a Florida man wanted on multiple felony charges involving crimes against children was arrested this week in Johnson County.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies received information May 20 about the possible location of a wanted person from Florida.

After confirming the active warrant, deputies responded to a home on Oglethorpe Street where they say the suspect was working.

They identified the suspect as Jordan Daniel Geike.

Deputies say Geike was taken into custody without incident and is awaiting extradition proceedings.

According to the sheriff’s office, warrants out of Columbia County, Florida include charges of:

  • Solicitation of a minor to engage in sexual conduct
  • Transmission of harmful material to a minor
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Unlawful use of a two-way communication device

Sheriff Greg Rowland said the department remains committed to assisting other law enforcement agencies in apprehending dangerous offenders.
