Jake Fromm apologizes for using words “elite white people” in 2019 text exchange

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Houston County Bear and UGA Bulldog Jake Fromm is apologizing for using the words “elite white people” in a text message exchange.

Fromm, who was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of this year’s draft, said in a tweet Thursday “there’s no excuse for that word choice or sentiment.”

His tweet is below.

The conversation he’s referring to, which took place between Fromm and a friend in 2019, was about guns and suppressors.

It was shared on Twitter early Thursday.

“But no guns are good,” Fromm wrote. “They need to let me get suppressors. Just make them very expensive so only elite white people can get them haha.”
