Houston County Library System has discovery backpacks available

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Houston County Public Library System has a backpack that will help you explore the outdoors.

Each branch has a Georgia State Parks Discovery backpack available for checkout.

What the backpack includes

  • Binoculars
  • Three pocket guides for:
    • Trees
    • Birds
    • Wildlife

You can check out the backpack for a week with your library card. Nola Brantley Memorial Library branch manager Judith Malone says the backpack is a great educational tool for you and your kids.

“They can go and explore outdoors, go use their pocket guides, look around for the different animals and it works really good with our theme so just to get outside for the summer,” Malone said.

The backpacks are not specific to Houston County. There are backpacks available throughout the PINES library system. You also have the ability to check out the park pass that gives you access to certain state parks in Georgia.
