Houston County beats Veterans 41-13

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Veterans had no chance.

The Warhawks missed an early field goal and Houston County pounced, scoring early and often on its way to a 41-13 win Thursday in front of a jam-packed McConnell-Talbert Stadium.

In the second meeting between the two schools, the Bears led 35-7 at halftime. Junior quarterback Jake Fromm, who’s receiving interest from several SEC schools, threw for more than 350 yards.

Howard starts 2-0 for second time in Hester era

In a rematch of last year’s overtime thriller at FPD, Howard got the revenge it was looking for. The Huskies, who lost to the Vikings 26-25 last season, added onto a 14-10 halftime lead to win 38-17 and move to 2-0 for the second time since 2013.

Central shuts out Wilkinson County

The Central Chargers opened the season with a dominating win over Wilkinson County, beating the Warriors 31-0 at Macon’s Henderson Stadium.

The Chargers meet Howard next week at the Ed DeFore Sports Complex.
