Historic Macon picks Porter House as its 2017 Design House

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Historic Macon picked the Porter House at Wesleyan College as its 2017 Design House Wednesday.

That means the Porter House will be open for public tours and will be the host of Historic Macon’s Design, Wine and Dine fundraiser.

“This is quite a landmark presentation of what can happen when you save an historic site,” Susannah Maddux, Historic Macon Trustee said.

The house was built in 1928 and was almost demolished until Historic Macon and Wesleyan Collge moved it onto the school’s campus.

The Porter House will be open for public tours from June 16th to the 25th. Tickets are 20 dollars.
