Historic Macon gearing up for big flea market with new warehouse

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Historic Macon is preparing for its 39th annual Flea Market with a new warehouse on Oglethorpe Street.

The group takes donations year-round for the Flea Market, which is Historic Macon’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Volunteers are working every Wednesday and Friday morning pricing and displaying thousands of items in the warehouse at 357 Oglethorpe Street.

“Volunteers donate over 1,700 hours if not more,” Emily Hopkins with Historic Macon said. “This year it’s probably going to be more because we’ve had to work so much to get this building ready to go but all the effort is definitely paying off because I think this is going to be the best Flea Market yet.”

The Flea Market is Saturday, November 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, November 6 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Before the event, a preview party will be held Friday night next to the warehouse at Macon Beer Company.
