High On The Hawg Dishes Up Baked Mac’N’Cheese

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Barbecue ribs, pulled pork, and beef brisket are all popular items on the menu at High on the Hawg in Macon.

Manager Matt Anderson says, “We have competition style BBQ, we pull all the pork fresh to order, let you sauce it yourself, we’ve got a wide variety of different sauces.”

Customers like Michael Glisson dine in at least twice a week.

“The BBQ here is way better than anything else you’ll find in Macon, they smoke everything, you get that really good smokey flavor, and really all the sauces they have are amazing,” says Glisson.

The meals aren’t complete without sides like baked macaroni and cheese, beer battered onion rings, fried green beans, baked beans, and fried okra.

Owner Patrick Mims says, “It’s just really good, it’s just an old school baked mac and cheese, topped with bread crumbs and people seem to really enjoy it.”

It’s the flavor and service that keep customers coming back.

“We would come more often if my family would let me, but they limit me to once a week,” laughs Lisa DeWees.

It’s customers like DeWees that High on the Hawg appreciate.

“We’ve got a lot of people that from day one were here supporting us, we’ve come a long way since we’ve opened these doors,” says Anderson.
