Heaviest rain yet this week expected to begin the weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An incoming area of low pressure and the associated fronts will bring plenty of rain to Middle Georgia overnight tonight and much of Saturday.
This Evening
Isolated showers activity has been ongoing for awhile around Middle Georgia and the odds for showers will continue to increase as the night goes on. Thunderstorms will be come possible leading into tomorrow morning, however with temperatures likely to be in the mid to upper 50s during the storms no severe weather is expected. In fact overall thunderstorm activity should be limited.
Temperatures will valley in the low to mid 50s by Saturday morning. The wind will be light from the north-northwest around 5-10 mph. There is a full moon tonight; the Full Flower Moon, however overcast skies and rain will make it near impossible to see.
Tomorrow
It will be a wet start to Saturday with moderate to heavy rain likely ongoing as the sun comes up lasting at least into the lunchtime hours. A few showers may persist later into the day. No severe weather is expected as temperatures should remain in the upper 50s and lower 60s while the rain is going.
High temperatures in the afternoon should creep into the upper 60s and lower 70s, however. The wind will continue from the north-northwest at 3-12 mph with gusts reaching to around 17 mph. Sunshine is unlikely however a bit of clearing will begin in the evening, especially in the northwestern counties of the region.
Overnight will be clear and Middle Georgians will finally be able to see the aforementioned full moon. Temperatures will likely drop into the 40s across the region leading into Sunday morning. The wind will still flow out of the north-northwest around 5 mph.
Sunday and Beyond
Sunny skies will be back for the back half of the weekend with temperatures largely topping off in the lower 70s. The wind will still flow from the northwest around 5 mph. Sunny conditions will continue through the first few days of next week before rain odds climb again before the following weekend.
