Paris cruises past Harvey for vacant Georgia House seat

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Miriam Paris beat Gerald Harvey Tuesday in the race for the vacant Georgia House District 142 seat.

The former state senator beat the former Macon councilman by a large margin, grabbing 76% of the vote.

“My focus is really being a person that solves problems and gets things done,” Paris told 41NBC this week. “That’s what I think being in office is all about.”

The former Macon councilman takes the seat left open by Nikki Randall, who stepped down in March after holding the seat unopposed since 1999.
