Inmate convicted of murder in Hancock State Prison stabbing
Prosecutors say the victim was stabbed during a fight involving other inmates, and the jury reached a verdict in about an hour.

HANCOCK COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A jury has convicted a prison inmate of murder in connection with a stabbing death inside Hancock State Prison, according to prosecutors.
The Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office says 38-year-old Joshua Andrew Brock was found guilty of malice murder in the January 2025 death of fellow inmate Prince Porter.
Prosecutors say the two men were incarcerated at Hancock State Prison when the stabbing happened.
According to the district attorney’s office, Brock approached Porter from behind during a fight involving other inmates and stabbed him in the back.
Officials say the jury deliberated for about an hour before returning a guilty verdict.
Brock, who was already serving a life sentence for armed robbery, was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Georgia Department of Corrections records show he’s currently housed at Telfair State Prison.
