Gurley named Walter Camp National Player of the Week

ATHENS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After an outstanding performance in Georgia’s game against Clemson Saturday, junior tailback Todd Gurley has been named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week.

The Tarboro, N.C. native finished the Bulldogs’ 45-21 over Clemson with 293 all-purpose yards, gaining 100+ yards for the 14th time in his career on a career-high 198 yards rushing on 15 carries with three scores.  He finished the night averaging more than 13 yards per touch.

Gurley also ran back a kickoff 100 yards for the second time in his career.

Georgia (1-0, 0-0 SEC) is off next week before visiting South Carolina (0-1, 0-1) on September 13 at 3:30 p.m.
