Gov. Deal Appoints New Judge for Macon Circuit

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Gov. Nathan Deal is appointing Verda M. Colvin to the Superior Court judgeship for the Macon Judicial Circuit.  She will fill the vacancy left when Judge S. Phillip Brown resigned.

According to the governor’s office, Colvin currently serves as Assistant United States Attorney within the Middle District of Georgia. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and her law degree from the University of Georgia. She has two children and resides in Macon.
