GMC, FVSU increase higher education pathways through new articulation agreement
Georgia Military College (GMC) and Fort Valley State University (FVSU) announced Tuesday a new comprehensive articulation agreement that's aimed at fostering academic success and accessibility.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Military College (GMC) and Fort Valley State University (FVSU) announced Tuesday a new comprehensive articulation agreement that’s aimed at fostering academic success and accessibility.
According to a GMC news release, the agreement is designed to streamline the educational journey for students across the region, facilitating a smoother transition between institutions and into advanced degree programs.
The agreement places a focus on four key areas intended to ease the credit transfer process and support students pursuing degrees in education, pre-nursing and public health.
“The agreement encompasses general transfer provisions, facilitating smooth transitions for students transferring credits between institutions,” the release stated. “Additionally, it includes provisions for students pursuing Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees in Education to seamlessly transition into Bachelor of Education programs. Similarly, those pursuing Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees in Pre-Nursing can transition into Bachelor of Nursing programs. Furthermore, the agreement extends to students pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Health, facilitating their progression into Master of Environmental Health programs.”

GMC President Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, USA (Ret.) says the agreement represents the institutions’ commitment to student success and academic excellence.
“By forging these pathways, we are ensuring that students have the support and resources they need to achieve their educational goals and thrive in their chosen fields,” he said.
