Girl with cancer takes helicopter ride

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A nine-year-old girl got a treat at this year’s Lane Southern Orchards Fourth of July celebration.

Cadence Fox and her family took a United States Army Huey helicopter ride.
The scenic flight provided aerial views of pecan and peach orchards, farms, fields and lakes.

Candence says she likes how she felt when the helicopter turned.
“I wanna see how it feels my first time and my second time,” says Candence.

Her mother say she’s grateful to pilots Chris Baum and Roger Zupon.

“I’m never short for words but I am today,” said Tara Fox, with tears streaming down her face. “These guys are fantastic and what they’re doing to make her day even more special just touches my heart so much.”

In May, Cadence was diagnosed with two Germinoma cancer tumors. She’s been through chemo twice and still has two treatments to go.

After completing chemo, she’ll get radiation treatment in Texas.
