Georgia’s Deandre Baker wins Jim Thorpe Award

ATHENS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The University of Georgia’s Deandre Baker took home some hardware at the annual College Football Awards Thursday.

The senior defensive back from Miami won the Jim Thorpe Award, which goes to the nation’s best defensive back.

He’s the first Bulldog to ever win the award.

Baker was also included on the Walter Camp All-America team.

He has 40 tackles this season and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions. He also has a team-best 10 pass breakups.
