Georgia rally falls short against Tennessee in Little League Southeast Region softball tournament

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tennessee (Daniel Boone Little League) scored four runs in the third inning to erase a 1-0 Georgia lead and send the girls from Warner Robins American to the loser’s bracket.

In the second game for both teams at the Little League Southeastern Region Tournament, Georgia (Warner Robins American Little League) rallied with single runs in the fourth and six innings before falling short, 4-3.

The game was delayed about four hours due to weather with Tennessee leading 4-2 in the top of the fourth.

Makenna Dance, Jaycie Jenkins and Dannah Persinger were all 2-for-3 at the plate for Tennessee.

After racking up 15 hits and 15 runs against Florida on Thursday, Georgia was held to just four hits in Friday’s loss.

It will face South Carolina Saturday at noon in a loser-go-home game. Tennessee advances to face North Carolina Sunday at 12.

North Carolina beat Virginia 11-1 Friday.
