Georgia House committee doesn’t vote on Ava’s Law

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The House Insurance Committee did not take a vote on Senate Bill one, also known as Ava’s Law.

Anna Bullard, the mother of the little girl who inspired the bill, tells 41NBC she didn’t expect a vote to be taken. However, she does feel Wednesday morning’s hearing was positive. Bullard says lawmakers seemed more open to the proposal compared to last year.

If approved, the bill would require insurance companies to provide coverage for autism therapies for children under the age of six.

Bullard expects another hearing within the next few weeks.
