GCSU first baseman named Georgia Dugout Club Player of the Year
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (GC ATHLETICS) – Georgia College senior first baseman Clay Ardeeser (Loganville) was named 2014 Georgia Dugout Club Division II Player of the Year, the organization announced recently.
Ardeeser had a monster junior season, hitting .424 with 10 home runs and 63 RBI. He was named to the All-Southeast Region Second Team by both Rawlings and Daktronics, also adding All-Peach Belt Conference Second Team honors.
The junior scored 59 runs, slugged .683 and had a .991 fielding percentage showing off the well-rounded player he can be.
Ardeeser and the rest of the Bobcats kick off the 2015 season Saturday, Feb. 7 at No. 2 University of Tampa in doubleheader action. The Georgia College home opener is Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. against Newberry College.
