GC men’s hoops edged at Clayton State, 79-71
Harris notched his 10th 20-point game this season at 20-even, yanking down eight rebounds as well. Senior forward Larrentis Thomas (McDonough) hit 5-of-6 shots from the field en route to a 13-point performance. Rio McMillian (Park Forest, Illinois) and Evyn Smith (Snellville) added 11 points each to the effort, a Georgia College career-best for the sophomore transfer Smith.
The Bobcats out-shot the Lakers 41 percent (24-58) to 36 percent (26-72) from the field, but Clayton owned a plus-11 rebounding margin at 49-38. The Lakers also doubled up the Bobcat three-point makes at 14-7.
Saiquan Terry led all scorers with 21 points, all from beyond the arc at 7-of-17 from long range. Terry didn’t take a single two-point shot or free throw. Dantez Bennamon added 18 points, with Jamel McKee netting 12 and Kelsey Terry 11.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m., playing host to Georgia Southwestern State University for Georgia College’s annual Homecoming Game.
