UPDATE: GBI investigating deadly Dodge County shooting, homeowner claims self-defense
The GBI says 45-year-old Terrance Travis Gordon was shot during a confrontation on 1st Avenue in Eastman.

UPDATE: The GBI confirmed Monday it’s investigating a Sunday shooting that left a man dead in Dodge County.
According to a GBI news release, Terrance Travis Gordon of Eastman was 45.
The GBI says the preliminary investigation revealed Gordon was walking along 1st Avenue while firing a gun. According to the release, he approached a home and made threats toward the occupants, and an exchange of gunfire occurred between Gordon and the homeowner.
Both Gordon and the homeowner were wounded. The homeowner was treated and released from the hospital.
The GBI says the homeowner claimed self-defense and that no arrests have been made at this time.

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Eastman Police Department says a shooting early Sunday left one person dead and another hospitalized.
According to a news release, officers responded to a shooting on 1st Avenue near Mount Moriah Street just after midnight and found two people shot. Both of them were taken to Dodge County Hospital.
Police say Terrance Gordon died at the hospital and that the other person, who is claiming self-defense, was shot in the foot. There’s no update on the second person’s condition.
According to the release, video footage, including Eastman’s CCTV Surveillance System, captured the incident and will aid in the investigation, which has been turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
“The Eastman Police Dept. Would like to offer our condolences to Mr. Gordon’s family for their loss,” the release concluded.
