FVSU hosts memorial for student killed in car crash

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State University held a memorial service Thursday for a student who died in a car accident last week.
According to the Peach County Coroner, 22-year-old Taylor Moore lost control of her car on Carver Drive.
Moore’s mother, Miriam Knight, told 41NBC News she’s saddened by her loss, and she appreciates the outpouring of support from her daughter’s friends, family, and school. Knight said her daughter wanted to be a broadcast journalist. “If she’s able to look down and see us, I’m sure she is happy seeing that we are standing up and moving, and trying to piece things back together. I know Taylor is in heaven. I know that she’s working now, probably in heaven’s newsroom, because that’s what she wanted to do,” said Knight.
The group also released balloons and held a candle-lighting ceremony after the memorial service.
