Funeral held for Pro Golfer Gene Siller in Dunwoody

DUNWOODY, Georgia (NBC NEWS) —  A funeral was held at Dunwoody United Methodist Church on Monday for the late Gene Siller, a pro golfer that was shot and killed by a man who drove a pickup truck onto a Kennesaw golf course with 2 bodies in the bed of the truck.

A GoFundMe that was made to support his surviving wife and 2 sons has raised nearly $700,000.

Siller was not killed as a result of being targeted, but instead was shot as he witnessed a crime taking place. The suspect in custody is being charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and kidnapping.
