Four arrested, one wanted after multi-agency drug and firearms operation in Washington County

Law enforcement officers arrested four men and are searching for a fifth after a coordinated drug and firearm operation in Washington County on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Law enforcement officers arrested four men and are searching for a fifth after a coordinated drug and firearm operation in Washington County on Wednesday, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation, carried out by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Middle Georgia Gang Task Force, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, Georgia State Patrol, and Sandersville Police Department, targeted suspects in ongoing investigations.

46-year-old Demetrius M. Lewis of Tennille was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of cocaine and two counts of use of a communication device to facilitate a felony. After his arrest, a search aided by the Department of Community Supervision revealed crack and powder cocaine, according to deputies. Lewis now faces additional charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

44-year-old Reginald Dawson, also of Tennille, was arrested and charged with two counts of sale of cocaine and two counts of use of a communication device to facilitate a felony. Law enforcement reported finding three firearms during a search after his arrest. He will also be charged with three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.

46-year-old Kendrick Reeves of Tennille was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.

26-year-old Keon Cooper of Sandersville was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

44-year-old Shedrick Mack of Tennille is wanted on three counts of sale of crack cocaine and three counts of use of a communication device to facilitate a felony.

“Our collaboration with local and state partners remains strong as we continue working to keep Washington County safe—a great place to live and raise our families,” the sheriff’s office said in the release. “If you do not abide by the law: if you break the law, you will be held accountable for your actions.”
