Four arrested after shooting near Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard shopping center

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Four suspects were taken into custody Monday after a shooting incident inside Northpark Center, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 1:41 p.m. on November 17 to reports of shots fired near Northside Drive, just north of Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard. When they arrived, deputies saw several men getting out of an SUV stopped in the roadway, the sheriff’s office said.

A 21-year-old man, identified as the vehicle’s owner, fled on foot but was apprehended. An 18-year-old suspect who ran from the vehicle dropped a bookbag before he was also taken into custody. A second 18-year-old armed suspect was spotted running behind the shopping center and was detained without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Witnesses told deputies another suspect ran toward the nearby Kroger. Deputies found the fourth suspect, also an 18-year-old male, in the parking lot and took him into custody.

Deputies recovered several firearms, bags of marijuana and bookbags at the scene. No injuries or property damage were reported.

The four suspects were taken to the Investigation Headquarters for questioning. The sheriff’s office said the investigation is in its early stages.
