Fort Valley State placed on temporary lockdown

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State University was placed on a temporary lockdown Tuesday night.

Teresa Southern in the Marketing and Communications Department tells 41NBC campus police assisted Fort Valley Police officers as they chased two men who they say were armed and dangerous, resulting in the lockdown around 8:30.

The lockdown happened during a candlelight vigil the school was holding for two students who were killed during an accident Saturday night.
