Man dies after shooting at Fort Valley apartment complex
Police say officers found the man with a gunshot wound at Lakeview Apartments just after midnight Tuesday
FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A man is dead after an overnight shooting at a Fort Valley apartment complex, according to Fort Valley Police Chief David Wilson.
Wilson says officers responded to Lakeview Apartments on Edwards Street just after midnight Tuesday and found a man with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to a hospital, where medical staff later pronounced him dead.
The GBI confirmed Tuesday that the Fort Valley Police Department requested its assistance with a death investigation. The GBI says the case is active and ongoing.
Neither Wilson nor the GBI has released the man’s name.
