Six arrested, four sought in Fort Valley drug and firearms indictment

The indictment charges 10 men with offenses involving cocaine, methamphetamine and firearms, with some defendants facing up to life in prison if convicted.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Six people are in custody and four are being sought after 10 Fort Valley men were charged in a 38-count federal indictment alleging an armed drug-trafficking ring involving cocaine, methamphetamine and dozens of firearms.

U.S. Attorney William R. “Will” Keyes announced Thursday that the indictment was filed Tuesday and unsealed Thursday.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, U.S. Marshals Service and Peach County deputies executed arrest warrants early Thursday in Peach County and Miami, Florida.

Six defendants were arrested. Bruce Jolly, Chris Jolly, Kerry Ross and Dextric Harris remain at large.

As part of the investigation, law enforcement say they seized 68 firearms, including pistols, revolvers and rifles. Two were equipped with switches that converted them into machine guns, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The defendants and charges listed in the indictment are:

52-year-old Kerry Ross is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, six counts of distribution of cocaine base, seven counts of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of distribution of powder cocaine and one count of using a communication facility to facilitate a felony under the Controlled Substances Act. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

37-year-old Bruce Jolly is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, four counts of distribution of cocaine base and four counts of distribution of methamphetamine. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

19-year-old Chris Jolly is charged with one count of illegal receipt of a firearm by a person under indictment and one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

60-year-old Danny Hicks is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances and two counts of distribution of methamphetamine. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

38-year-old Paul Leslie is charged with two counts of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and seven counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

37-year-old Darius Dassau is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

32-year-old Taqwan McCrary is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

34-year-old Dextric Harris, also known as “Young Jefe” and “Jefe Sackright,” is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

59-year-old Michael Joseph is charged with one count of distribution of methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

36-year-old Jamiei Leslie is charged with one count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

According to the indictment, the defendants conspired to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine in Middle Georgia while possessing firearms in connection with drug trafficking.
